After being contacted by The Daily Mail about Greenwood, Nike simply responded: "Mason Greenwood is not a Nike athlete."

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

According to the report, Greenwood was set to sign a new contract with Nike before they made the decision to drop him in February 2022, after he was arrested on charges of attempted rape, assault and coercive control – which were dropped in February 2023. It is believed that he was paid no compensation for losing the deal but was owed outstanding bonus payments.
